The Investigation of Polymer and Polymer Colloids using the Single Photon Counting System

The aim of this work is to design and manufacture a " Single Photon Counting system" to measure life times of energy levels of the excited molecules in the 10-9 second range. For this propose, the design and manufacture of light P.M. housing, hydrogen flash lamp, thyratron triggering unit and high voltage supply was achieved using Hacettepe University Engineering Faculty Department of Physics facilities.

The final system was tested using three different samples. Statistical analysis of experimental data was done using single and double exponential fit functions. Our results agree quite well with similar results for the same samples given in literature.
